In this paper, the acoustic scattering of an infinitely long functionally graded viscoelastic cylinder, reinforced with ring and stringer stiffeners and excited by an oblique acoustic wave, is investigated. The cylinder is made of functionally graded viscoelastic material, and its properties vary along the radial direction according to a power law distribution. The ring and stringer stiffeners are located on the outer surface of the shell. First-order shear deformation theory based on Hamilton's principle is used to derive the shell’s motion equations. The ring and stringer stiffeners are coupled with the shell as force and moment resultants. Then, using structure–fluid interaction equations, the acoustic vibration equations of the structure are obtained. Finally, the effects of geometrical, mechanical, and physical parameters on acoustic scattering are investigated. The results show that changes in the thickness, width, and spacing of the stiffeners have a significant effect on the acoustic scattering of the structure.
