The increase and population growth lead to issues such as traffic, cost and time, which has led the worldwide aviation industry to a new approach in recent decades; Urban Air Mobility (UAM) that will be implemented through VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aircrafts. These air vehicles can be EVTOL (All-Electric) or HEVTOL (Hybrid-Electric) based on the type of propulsion system used. In this paper, with the reviews and studies, these aircrafts are divided into three general categories: winged-VTOL, wingless-VTOL and Hover-bike; Each of these general categories are further classified into more detailed configurations. The main factor determining the type of configuration of these aircrafts is the type and number of motors/rotors used for the hover flight phase and how to transition from hover to cruise. In the following, each one is explained and the advantages and disadvantages corresponding to them are mentioned. At the end, various qualitative and performance analysis are presented for the VTOL aircraft database in UAM field.
